This Project, conducted in colaboration with Western Sydney University, responds to changes in how news is produced and consumed. It addresses emerging questions regarding the changing role of news in relation to citizenship and democracy, and the challenge of ‘fake news’. In earlier research, the research team identified several barriers that prevent young Australians developing their news media literacy in the home and in schools. In its current phase, the project seeks to understand the value and impact of the InQueensland Media Academy program.
